Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve.

circular two day route of 27km is a
popular option.

four different hiking routes from 12 to
22km at Ostrich Trails.
 Enjoy town walks in the
Botanical Gardens.- Various other

- Slangrivier
is a traditional coloured settlement that
is worth visiting.
- Witsand and
Port Beaufort, the whale nursery of South
Africa, is only 35km from Heidelberg. The
Breede river mouth is at the beach.
 The pont at Malgas
transports vehicles over the Breede river
and is one of the only remaining hand
drawn ponts in the country.- The little
village of Vermaaklikheid is on the banks
of the Duivenhoks river close to the
mouth near Puntjie.
