- Slangrivier
is a traditional coloured settlement that
is worth visiting.
- Witsand and
Port Beaufort, the whale nursery of South
Africa, is only 35km from Heidelberg. The
Breede river mouth is at the beach.
The pont at Malgas
transports vehicles over the Breede river
and is one of the only remaining hand
drawn ponts in the country.
- The little
village of Vermaaklikheid is on the banks
of the Duivenhoks river close to the
mouth near Puntjie.
